Michelle in the Still House

Michelle [Bruichladdich Tour Guide]

Welcome to the first in a series of notes about Bruichladdich. We visited the distillery in August and were bowled over by the passion everyone there has for the whisky and the brand – it is like one big family. Therefore we’ve decided to devote a few posts to telling a bit of the story of Bruichladdich through the people that work there. In the near future we will publish our interview with Jim, and following that our discussion with Adam and Allan. First though we wanted to give you an overview of the distillery through the eyes of a tour guide, and who better than Michelle?

Read on for more details from the Birmingham Whisky Club.

The Lakes Distillery

The Lakes Distillery

The Lake District is one of the most beautiful areas of the country. It is full of rolling hills, rugged mountain tops, and an abundance of lakes. Well, to be honest, there is only one official lake in the National Park – the rest are ‘waters’ or ‘meres’ for example: Bassenthwaite is the only body of water termed ‘lake’. It is this particular lake, 8 miles north east of Keswick that excites us though as this is to be the site of the first whisky distillery in the Lake District for well over 100 years; The Lakes Distillery.

Carn Mor Whiskies [An interview with Peter]

Carn Mor Whiskies [An interview with Peter]

Back in October we met Peter from Carn Mor Whiskies at the Chester Whisky Festival. On the day we had a lovely chat with him and he generously gave us a few samples that we’ll review over the coming weeks on the blog. In the meantime we thought it would be nice to interview him and tell you all about the fabulous goings on at Carn Mor – so here it is, our first interview!
