The Midlands Whisky Show

Stourbridge Whisky Show Autumn 2014

We recently attended the sixth incarnation of the Midlands Whisky Festival which is held in Stourbridge and ran by local wine and whisky merchants Nickolls and Perks. Yet again it was a fabulous day out and it is a show that we would heartily recommend to you. The next show will be in March 2015 and we hope to see you there. In the meantime, here’s a selection of images to entice you!

The Midlands Whisky Festival

The Midlands Whisky Festival

A couple of weekends ago we headed off to Stourbridge for part one of two whisky shows to be held in the town in 2013. Regular readers will know that last year we also attended this excellent event, so we were excited to see what it had in store for us this time. The show is run by the excellent Nickolls and Perks team, and you really should make the effort to visit the shop in Stourbridge which is an Aladdin’s cave of all things whisky and wine!

Bruichladdich Tasting [Nickolls and Perks]

A couple of weeks ago we spent a very enjoyable evening in Stourbridge at Nickolls and Perks in the company of Craig Johnstone from Bruichladdich. For me, this was like going home – I’ve been to the Feis Ile twice and both times enjoyed Bruichladdich masterclasses from the the legend that is Jim McEwan. For Mike, this was to be a great first experience experience of a Bruichladdich tasting and a great appetiser for what awaits in May 2013.

What a day we had! It is safe to say that the Midlands Whisky Festival rocks – it has a great location in the historic Stourbridge Town Hall, is organised by the historic Nickolls and Perks, and brought in malt fans and whisky from all over the world. It also provided us with an oppportunity to once again meet the fabulous Colin Dunn and try some spectacular Diageo Special Releases including the legendary Port Ellen!
